Highlights from the week in partnerships



Start-up partnerships can be a key predictor of M&A, and Nvidia's partnerships with 2 Israeli start-ups fit this pattern. Run:ai, a GPU Orchestration Software Provider, and Deci, a Deep Learning Development Platform, which had previously partnered with the chipmaker, have been respectively bought for $700M and an undisclosed amount.


Microsoft signs partnerships with publishers Axel Springer, Europe's leading digital publisher and Financial Times, in an industry effort to pay content producers for the use of their material while enabling AI tools for publishers, advertisers and readers alike. We might expect similar arrangements with other publishers to follow this pattern.


Meanwhile, Microsoft signed another alliance with The Coca-Cola Company to accelerate Cloud and AI Initiatives. Both companies will experiment with new technologies during the five-year strategic partnership after Coca-Cola makes a $1.1 billion commitment to the Microsoft Cloud.



Checkout and Mastercard partner to bring virtual cards to online travel agents.

George Simon, EVP of market development at Mastercard Europe, stated: "Mastercard remains committed to powering the travel economy with digital payment solutions that provide greater flexibility, visibility, and protection. Over 400,000 travel providers worldwide already rely on us to enable payments through the Mastercard Wholesale Program, and we're thrilled to be collaborating with Checkout.com to support their customers to embrace the next generation of payment solutions for B2B travel.


Meanwhile Mastercard also partnered with Unicredit, leading Italian bank, for the launch of Mastercard Touch Card, introducing an accessible card standard for people that are blind or partially sighted, bringing security and inclusivity to Unicredit careholders. The card with this feature will be firstly available in Italy followed by other 12 European countries where the bank is present.


FreedomPay, an US company that provides a comprehensive commerce platform and payment systems, and Elavon Europe, announced an expanded collaboration to provide cutting-edge integrated commerce solutions and omni-channel payments technology to large enterprise clients across Retail and Hospitality.


Klarna, a Swedish company that popularised Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment option, has signed a deal with Uber to let users of Uber and Uber Eats to Pay Now or Pay bundled-expenses on a monthly basis out of your salary, in US, Germany and Sweden.


Papernest, a French startup specializing in centralizing utilities' contracts and subscriptions, has added ING España&Portugal bank, to its list of its 2000 partners. This partnership will enable the bank's clients to avail of Papernest's tool free for smart handling of bills, saving time and money.



Hubspot is officially launching Linkedin CRM Sync, an enhanced bi-directional integration between Linkedin Sales Navigator and Hubspot CRM.

Azerion, a platform that serves the interest of advertisers, digital publishers, game creators and consumers, and Eniro, a Swedish company that specializes in providing digital search and directory services, have signed a strategic partnership to revolutionise digital marketing and advertising in the Nordic region.
